TOPIC: My PMMA venture -- good, bad and the ugly
Re: My PMMA venture -- good, bad and the ugly
13 years 4 months ago #1277467433I am amazed at what you put yourself through, you are quite courageous to attempt something never done, at least not before in this board. It is comforting to know that there is a doctor somewhere who can deglove our PMMA enhanced units, but I am not convinced that this is the only solution. Mine got sorted out by Dr C intervening a third time.
Regarding the lump in your scrotum, I wouldn't worry. I have got pretty much the same one right now. Several other members here had one also after getting scrotal ligament cuts just as I did 3 weeks ago. In each instance they eventually went away so I am not at all worried.
Do let us know what your doctor says about his technique, as it is interesting to know it can be done in an extreme situation. Also, can you tell us what the real total cost was for this procedure, as some here may not be covered by insurance?
Cheers,HC

Re: My PMMA venture -- good, bad and the ugly
13 years 4 months ago #1277467572I'm not sure about the cost of the procedure exactly... so this is my best guess -- I pay 20% of the procedure, insurance pays 80%
My surgeon bill was $250, and my hospital bill was $350, so $600 all the together for my out of pocket, that means my insurance paid $2400, so the entire procedure was ~$3,000
To be honest, I'm having some second thoughts about getting the degloving procedure...
in all honesty, if I had to do this over again, I probably would have gone and seen Dr C, let him work his magic... and if Worse came to absolute worse, get the de-gloving. I made the decision to listen to my local Urologist... partly because I had been shunned by a few local doctors, so when one finally listened to me, and showed caring, I jumped on his band wagon. ShouldA- CouldA- WouldA game... I don't play it anymore...
So -- The latest thing I need to figure out is if during the de-gloving procedure, did the PMMA move to the base of my penis, forming a hard ring and a bump on the scrotum... or is it simply healing?
Time will tell.... but it could be a good data point for all your future PMMA de-glovers (if there are any) ... so I'll keep ya all posted.
It's Hanging nicely -- seems like Flaccid length is same as before... also no pain at all, no urethra pain like I had before when inflamed with PMMA, and no large lump on the right side...
I have have no obvious sensitivity loss either... so that's good news. My only concern is when I get Erect, the penis doesn't extend at all, it just gets hard... so it's Flaccid state is it's Erect state... Also -- It's only been 3 weeks... so hopefully the lateral mobility when errect will come back, and hopefully this huge lump is just healing process.
I meet with Singh next Monday --- so we'll see what he has to say...
Lastly -- as many of you know, I suffer from Anxiety ... last Friday I got a new general practioner doctor... and he put me on some anti-anxiety meds... man, where were these things 2 months ago! I could have really used them... I bet it would have changed my decision to get the PMMA out the way I did... let that be a lesson to you anxious peps out there looking to get into the PE scene --- get on anti-anxiety medication
Thanks for the support! ...

Re: My PMMA venture -- good, bad and the ugly
13 years 4 months ago #1277528006After fooling around with a woman last night for about 30 mins, the region around where the penis connects to the body KILLED. It was hot and I ached down into my body (dont know how else to explain it)
I couldn't really walk, and it was definitely not comfortable.
It feels like there is a ring of PMMA around my lower groin area where the penis attaches to the body...
I had a large bleed after my de-gloving that made my entire penis swell... I'm hoping this didn't somehow move PMMA to the base... but that is my concern.
I meet with Singh Monday ... even if it is that, not sure what the remedy would be... his answer is going to be "give it time" ...

Re: My PMMA venture -- good, bad and the ugly
13 years 3 months ago #1277542442It might also be swelling at the edge of where your doctor scrapped off tissues? Somehow, I have the feeling that maybe you didn't wait long enough after an extremely serious and invasive procedure, before messing with your stuff. I would suggest acting as if you didn't have one for a while. It will do good in several ways. For one you'd be able to focus on something else and maybe be less stressed out about your unit. And secondly this will reduce the risk of you irritating it even more after very severe surgical trauma. My doctor said 6 weeks minimum before messing with my stuff after surgery, and all he did was tweak the skin. No collagen Removal at all. Hope your doctor's visit goes well.

Re: My PMMA venture -- good, bad and the ugly
13 years 3 months ago #1277588760I met with Dr Singh on Monday.
First thing he told me was that the PMMA that he got out of my Penis "really had to go" ... he then said "It smelt like kitty litter" ... and then went on to say that he thinks he got 100% of it...
He then went on to say he removed my Dartos layer as well as the Tunica albuginea --- at least that is what I think he said.
He also said that the length issue was just healing, and to pull it hard after urinating for about 15 seconds...
I didn't know he was going to remove the membranes / layers when he started the procedure... oh well.
I hope I retain some size... right now its a 2 Inch stumpy thing.

I'm sure he wouldn't have done that. He probably said he had to cut into it.

Re: My PMMA venture -- good, bad and the ugly
13 years 3 months ago #1277633913Yeah, I must agree that he probably didn't explain this very clearly, and in your current situation you cannot really trust what you might hear, as this is some serious stress and you already went through a double nightmare. However I trust he isn't totally mad and he only did what is indispensable, preserving as much as feasible your original tissues.
Regarding his suggestions to stretch your unit, I agree that this is probably important as you are going to be retracting due to the physical trauma of surgery plus it is important that scar tissue not become too used to a shorter length. Here are some suggestions given to me in another thread by a forum member, as well as a link to the forum where they explain similar methods in the first link at the top of that page.

This is apparently where he got his inspiration or folks with similar ideas about stretching:
