TOPIC: Hair removal from lower shaft after PMMA

Thanks Arctic - I have had similar resuts w/ my back. Many years of doing that...not many results. The hair is thinner and takes a lot longer to grow back - but it always does grow back (And I've had at least 10 treatments with Alexandrite and Yag lasers). The old Alexandrite (GentleLase) hurt like hell... but the newer one isn't as bad.

I've used something like that and got a bad cut...so I have fears of mechanical moving blades near my penis (but not lasers, ironically). it was before my peyronie's surgery. In my op report, he even noted "patient had 5mm laceration from hair Removal at home" ...lol. I guess if it got infected it was my fault!

Yeah, that's actually why I asked. They did 6-8 weeks for my back for a while but it is all still there (just thinner) . I was wondering if the hair cycle for the pubic area is a little different. The theory is they have to the hair in the growth phase. Do you happen to remember the laser?

I had it done on my shaft and my Balls. It took 3 visits, and I got a few minor burns but it was all gone after that. I used to get razor burn from shaving the base o my shaft. I am happy with it.

The type of laser used for hair Removal wont effect PMMA.

I forgot to mention I also get really bad razor burn too - so I only clip ... never shave.

Hi Restoration, I attempted a few times to have laser hair Removal at the base of the shaft, unrelated to PMMA. It was painful and appeared to be ineffective, shaving is a better option.

It's always funny when you do a search and then your own thread comes up! Well, here I am again - almost a year later - still with a very hairy penis shaft, particularly on the side with the skin removed.

So, Hoddle - you were last to reply about this. Are you sure the Alexandrite (hair Removal laser) won't affect PMMA? I have light skin and dark hair so it really heats it up. The follicles can sometimes get really red and inflamed for weeks.

For guys that got this done, were you really red / raised after? Has anyone done it post-PMMA?

Yeah, wear loose clothing, no underwear or loose underwear. I use baby powder on hot days before I go out and when come back home I always shower, dry and wear very loose bottoms. I have curly hair so sometimes I get ingrown hair a week or so after shaving.

After my web resection, hair grows up my shaft (or should I say down) almost all the way to the circ scar. I shave it off when it gets too shabby. I'd like a more permanent tx. and never thought of laser. I'll look into it. Is it expensive? I'd be pretty shy about my little one getting this done while Flaccid. Maybe I should wait until after PMMA.

It has come way down in price - and I would not be shy. I am sure you are not in the first 10,000 guys that have had it done. It was all pretty clinical - there are even places that advertise for men. Personally I might have it done before - who knows how a laser that close to your skin is going to react to PMMA - probably not all, but just in case.

be careful. there is a doctor in Italy who utilizes lasers for removing PMMA. He has used them to melt the beads and remove the filler in women who originally had failed PMMA buttock augmentations.

there is no such thing as permanent hair removal, only permanent hair reduction.
now there are variances of that, i have had my whole body lasered and can tell u that yes it works. that being said the hair on my back and neck is the most difficult spots to reduce, due to the hormone receptors located there.
it's true what hunky-dory said there are phases that make the hair follicle receptive to being killed so multi treatments r key.
the naughty bits r very receptive and i have not had any hair down there for 5 years, although a few do grow back here and there and one must go back and give them another zap for up keep.

No it was a long time ago when it was super expensive - there was some woman doing it out of the Chelsea hotel cheap. I would check realself for reviews of lasers. It worked perfectly for me - except for the fact that she burned my Balls in a few spots. After the lig. cut I ended up with an Inch of har or more growing up my shaft - it was gross and shaving always itched or left bumps.

I think it was something like 3 weeks apart maybe? - the reason for the spacing is that some hairs are in a growth phase on your body and some are not on any given day. The laser only kills the ones in a growth phase - so you have to keep on going back until you get them all in the growth phase - at least that is what was explained to me.
