TOPIC: Urologist after PMMA

I guess that makes sense, doctors don't seem to want to touch anything related to improving or fixing a penis with an average sized pole. I've been doing some serious kegeling and trauma release exercises and my EQ already seems a touch better; it may just be in my head though. I've got an appointment with a specialist on Monday just to rule out any major complications.

It's on the actual penis, just behind the glans. I can't tell if it's above or below the PMMA. After both PMMA rounds, the band stayed and the shaft isn't as thick in that area as if the PMMA had a more difficult time taking there. I attached a picture, maybe that will make more sense of it.

Thanks for the reply. Basically, I injured myself through PE a few years back before receiving PMMA. I felt a pop and the area swelled pretty significantly for a few days and left me with a band-like constricted ring near where the injury occurred. Erections haven't been nearly as strong before the injury and need constant physical stimulation to maintain. I figured with enough downtime, I would heal and be back to normal. After 2+ years, that doesn't seem to be the case.

I want to make an appointment with a Urologist for some problems I've had pre-PMMA and am wondering if anyone knows if having 2 PMMA treatments over a year ago would cause any complication for possible invasive treatments with a Urologist. Thanks!

To be honest, after years of reading posts on PE forums, such as Thundersplace, I have to concur with notwhatitusedtobe. If you read the injury threads at TP, it seems urologists don't have many, if any, solutions to erectile problems beyond pde-5 inhibitors. They don't even seem to come close to a decent diagnosis of the problem in most cases.

I know people have been Circumcised after having PMMA. So I can't see why a different kind of minor surgery couldn't be performed in that area. Obviously you'd need to speak to the Urologist about it, but at least I can confirm that members have had various surgeries such as circumcisions and web reduction after PMMA.

To be honest I suspect he wont offer any type of surgical intervention. Unless there is very obviously an obstruction that he can feel and thinks is causing your weaker erections.

Yeah sorry if I came across as dour and bitter. I probably am, though. It just stems from having ED my entire life and having to do research on my own to find out what's going on and what I could do about it. The doctors I've personally seen have not been very helpful. I hope you can figure something out but you need to know you face an uphill battle. Good luck.

Yes and yes. There seems to be a slight upward curvature and my glans dont get as hard as they once did. Overall, my erections aren't as hard. It feels a little stiff in this area when Flaccid. After researching some, I was also considering Peyronie's. Did you have any luck resolving your Peyronie's or is it something that can't be fixed but instead forever managed?

Is your penis curving, since the injury? Or, have you just noticed it being less hard past the point of injury?

I ask because penises with peyronies disease are not as hard past the point where the injury / plaque is. Can you feel any hard spots in your Flaccid state?

Other than PDE-5 inhibitors, the options (if it is scar tissue) would be Pentoxyfiline (400 mg 3x a day) and Acetyl-L-Carnitine (1 gram twice a day)...plus arginine for EQ (2 grams per day, divided). Traction might help stretch some of the scar tissue as well...if that is scar tissue.

The PMMA had a harder time staying in place where my penis was also damaged from peyronies...though it did a lot better than nothing.

So it this ring on the actual penis or at the base where the ligs are? Is it above or below the PMMA?

Most likely the Urologist will not have a remedy. He will at best offer pde-5 inhibitors for the weak erections. He will also probably not notice the PMMA. When you start looking into Erection problems you'll find that outside of obvious lifestyle changes, there isn't much that can be done. You can take pills, injections, use a pump, or get an implant. Mechanical and structural problems with the venous system and the erectile tissue are notoriously difficult to fix, and surgical methods have been all but abandoned outside of the implant.

It sounds like Peyronies. If you're in the early stages, it can be treated with the stuff I mentioned above. Some guys have recovered with this alone. I didn't get this treatment in the early stages because it wasn't well known in 2010 - and it progressed. I ended up having surgery a year ago. I would recommend trying to do anything before having surgery bc it's a long recovery process w/ a lot of pain - an with PMMA in there, I don't know if they can operate that easily.

There is an injectible drug called xiaflex (collagenase) - that dissolves the plaque...but it could potentially affect the PMMA / collagen too.

It depends what the treatment and problem is. Can't you give us some more details?
