THe question if PMMA has settled in those lesions, if has the same impact in triggering production of collagen as when it is inserted underneath the skin. PMMA can lead to the the creation of totally unsmooth collagen surfaces the skin if it is not evenly distributed - who knows what some random PMMA particles can create inside an open scar if they are there (is that what you meant?). I may end up with a thick and uneven scar if this is the case and PMMA takes over healing.

I think 'deep' PMMA underneath the skin that is evenly distributed (not what was injected into those scars) will have no baring on the scar that develops as they have explained to me that the entry point PMMA goes a lot deeper.

I have no idea how it will close except if I remain awake for the next week and not allow myself to fall asleep. Even after surgery there are stitches keeping these things in place, in this case there is nothing 'glueing' the top layer of the skin together....

Should I go and see someone who deals with PMMA perhaps they can examine the wounds to make sure nothing is 'stuck' inside?

You are doing what you've done in the past again though. You have a history of working yourself up into a lather to the point you become totally irrational. You are trying to think up problems, when there really aren't any. All you've got is a delay i healing due to the location. It will eventually heal. This isn't PMMA related and if PMMA is injected into a scar it's to raise dips, to make the scar smooth, so don't worry about it becoming lumpy.

Unless you think you might have an infection, then you don't need to see anyone about it. Just give it time and stop thinking up all the things that could go wrong. Stop speculating in a negative way as this isn't good for your mental state. You are your own worst enemy. Just keep it clean and try and forget about it. It will heal over soon enough. Sometimes it takes several weeks for incisions to heal and people go through that without even worrying about it and all you've got it a thin burn line.

Your scar isn't gaping! There is no hole! The layers of skin have been burned away with a laser, they just need to heal over.

Thanks hoddle you are probably right. As you know, I have such a bad history with Phalloplasty going very wrong in the first operations (and things I saw coming) that it makes me concerned (on top of my existing OCD I guess . The location of the scar is not even at the base of the shaft any more but way down so it anything more than what I already had there would be more than conspicuous. Anyway, I will try to take it easy even though every morning when I wake up it looks totally open again. I just don't want to end up with a bigger scar than I had previously as there are no Sutures keeping tightening up at this point as opposed to when it was created. I really appreciate your support as always!!

I don't see a "hole" either. I've seen a "hole" before as it pertains to Phalloplasty, and you have nothing of the sort. Hoddle's advice is sound.

It looks infected to me, white puss with a red perimeter. Go see your General Doc, it will ease your mind and youll get what you need if anything to treat it.

My primary care physician says it isn't infected and so does Dr C and the doctor who performed the procedure, but I use an antibiotic cream once a day. I'm frankly not sure what the white 'stuff' is, my concern is that there are some PMMA beeds that were injected directly into the scar superficially and that the white substance may be engulfing them but I have no hard evidence to support it. I don't remember what this wound looked like after my original procedure so it's hard for me to compare. It is not showing any signs at all of closing up (any slight movement, ercection, ect makes it gape even more) so for now I am on tense hold... If there was a way to 'clean out' the scar from any debris that may be preventing it from closing then perhaps it would be a good idea but it was not something suggested to me by Dr Cs office...

I reckon a bit if iodine and a bandaid.....cleaned once a day...Belive it or not bandaids keep it clean but
Moist/dry or at right temp enought to heal and they very much excelarate healing

It looks like a burn from a laser, just keep it from getting infected! Note to anyone who is paranoid, ( I mean this in a good way, no disrespect intended) do not have procedures on your privates, you will drive yourself nuts! No matter what you are told you will not believe them( even your doctor). Most people that are having this don't should not, but if you have problems with being a worry wort , do not have this procedure done period !!! Sorry to be blunt candybars , but you are putting yourself through way more than you need too! Read your statements, you don't believe your doctors advice, you seem to be ignoring sound advice from many members here, and you won't stop with the PMMA coming out where the scar is. I am 99% sure it is a laser burn, why do I think that ? You had a laser working down there. If it was PMMA it would look like the liquid that came out of the injection sites. Just take care of your self, relax and follow what the doctor is telling you. End of rant , good luck!

I emailed the photos to Dr Solomon who performed the original procedure and also performs fraxel laser treatments and he said it does not look like a laser burn. I also had a few other scars on my body treated with laser while I was at the clinic and they didn't open up or look anything like this at all (I am attaching a photo so you can see what I mean).

Also I am attaching some more recent pics of the gaped scar and it does look like liquid that is coming out of the injection site, also you can see that it is worse than in the original images where it appears more as abrasions. I was told it was not infection and not puss so I have no idea what the white stuff is.. I can't of course state for sure it is PMMA related but I can't rule it out either, in any case whatever the reason may be, it is simply not closing up and even when I clean out the white fluid it appears deeper than before...

I can also add that i was exactly one week ago that Dr C and a local Dermatologist I saw who performs this laser procedure (I did not share with him that there was PMMA involved...), assured me it should close up in a couple of days, it it has not.

Re following directions, I have followed the recommendation of Dr C and some people here, essentially using iodine and antibiotic cream to keep it clean and I will try the band aid idea as well (can't hurt).

There must be something keeping it gaped up and the fact that it is not healing does worry me, especially in light of predictions and what the doctor that performed the original surgery (Solomon) suggested, which was to find a local PMMA expert and get it looked at...

I'm sorry if I seem irrational about it but I've had lots of things go wrong with Phalloplasty in the past so I've been 'burnt' before...

A description of what you can expect post laser:

"The skin will be raw, oozing and may even blister. A yellow liquid may ooze from treated areas to form a crust. Do not scratch or pick at crusts because this can cause scarring."

So basically, redness, skin oozing and yellow liquid etc are all normal. So your scar looks fine and you've been told you don't have an infection. Just leave for a few weeks and stop worrying.
