Yes we do really speak that way Down Under.. I say the words 'g'day' and 'mate' several times every day. I think I call my own son 'mate' more than I do by his real name. Anyway, I'm booking an appointment in first week of June with Dr C and at the moment trying to work out logistics with Christian of Avanti Derma. I could really use some advice from those brave men that have gone before me... I'm travelling from Australia and was planning on doing this: 1. Arriving LAX 6:40am and driving to Tijuana in a hire car. 2. On entering Tijuana, drive immediately to my appointment 3. From my appointment, drive to my nearby hotel in Tijuana to recover for about 48hrs My objective with this seemingly hectic schedule is to have my procedure as early as possible so I have more time for post-op recovery before reboarding a plane How important is it to be rested for this procedure? Is travelling 15 hours on a plane ad then driving 3 hours to my appointment too much? Id love to here your input on this. If it were me I'd just try to get there a day before. I got in the day before my procedure and stayed 48 hrs after. Maybe get an opinion from his office if you are concerned. I gave it a lot of thought but am not sure that I came up with the perfect plan. I purposefully came out a few days early so that I could relax and settle in to the area. I also wanted to get over the jet lag so that immediately after my procedure I could be wide awake for as long as needed to focus on the post op care. Well actually I've really struggled with jetlag. I've been falling asleep at 5pm and waking up at 2am. Being on your own, it feels harder to force yourself to stay awake. I was so excited and relaxed flying over, but spending 4 days here on my own has actually given me the time and space to end up worrying about stuff too much. If I come for round 2, I plan to arrive the day before, 2 days in the hotel to do the post care, and then get the hell out of here again. I guess one thing you might want to consider is whether you sleep on planes or not. I sleep well on planes but many others don't. Good luck with whatever you decide mate! It's going to be much better than driving into Mexico and even staying in Mexico. I just got back from there 9 days ago. And your schedule looks perfect. I got down to San Diego before I could check into my hotel and just waited for the shuttle. It was perfect and it gave me more time after the procedure to rest rather than before. Good luck with everything. I'm holding at about a 3/8 in gain mid shaft and a 1/2 in gain towards the base. Hopefully I'll gain more soon. I can't wait for round two. Enjoy man!
