That's great EQ! well done for a really cool effort. My wife and I did something similar and 5.5 was her max (albeit she is not exactly complaining now but I think at this stage she couldn't really care if I had 5.5 or 6 plus.

I strongly suspect (especially since the bulk of these women probably have not seen a real 8-incher, or at best, seen them very infrequently) long dildos/vibrators are made to be long to allow for the palm of the woman to be taken into account. And even in most pornography I decided to review (a horrible resource indeed), many of the non-freakish type women typically inserted 5-6 inches of the actual toy into them. There is a chance the women themselves in these studies were entirely oblivious that an 8-Inch toy was designed as such for the purpose of providing hand-held space. The same women who probably couldn't eyeball a size or accurately gauge their past lovers dimensions.
Furthermore, if 5-6" is sufficient, that is explains why dildos & vibrators are not just as long...because once a woman gets her hand around a 6" dildo, she only has 3" (+/-) of insertable toy.
At novelty sex stores, I've come to notice dildos that were 6" or so were usually the mountable kind... the one's meant to stay stationery (by means of suction cup or whatever) so that the woman would not be using her hand and she would be using the toy in free form. Otherwise, all hand-insertables were almost always longer than 5-6".
This may be of some comfort to us "shorter" guys. I've also concluded before that 5.5"-6.5" may be the ideal length if the same individual had a massive Girth. This is because with that length, one could fuck Balls deep (thus allowing the base of the penis to maximize entry & clitoral stimulation) without necessarily pounding the cervix. So in other words, a 6x6 might actually be more ideal than the fabled 8x6. At least in my judgment, which is only so good since I'm not a woman lol.

Second meet on Sunday evening. There were 25 women in attendance between the ages of 28 and 50. I read somewhere that 7.5 x 5.5 was the most popular dildo size amongst women purchasing from sex shops.

Is it a possiblity that women are avoiding the very large dildoes not because they are sub-optimal but to avoid adjusting to a size they are less likely to find in real life?

Friend of ours is single and very open about her dildo use so I asked for her favorite size for the purpose of this thread. her fave toy is 7x 5.25! I then ask how much she uses and she says Oh I never put it all the way in!

I second that and think its entirely true. I can now also verify for certain that my wife feels a little difference between 5.6 form before and my 6.4 now! seriously she like it it does feel bigger but she (and I trust her 100% percent) thinks there is no difference for her in terms of pleasure.

That is some interesting info with the sweetspot being between 4.5" and 5.5" in Girth. I find that comforting to most of us, although I'm sure that the fellow who got the world's record PMMA enhancement would question their choice of a proportioned dildo when their fridge is filled with coke cans?
How many really can accomodate 8" length? I've seen lots of porn scenes in which the girl looked like she couldn't take that much in and actually suffered when a longish guy got tired of the dry Dick syndrome and tried to penetrate them further... Did you ask them about other length preferences?
A few other things coms to mind. Did they try them out or just react to their feel and appearance? Do they insert them all the way, or was some length preference used to account for hand placement? Also, were they each alone to cast a private vote or did they choose in front of each other? I wonder about peer pressure and also the reliability of a size preference for an artificial item which probably would fail to dilate them upon penetration as much as the turn on of a HOT guy straight out of the PhalloBoard forum.

You might want to stretch in an attempt to gain length before contemplating PMMA. I would stretch for a minimum of 6 months first.

I dont have 8 inches and mine is too thick....Nobody wants me mvahhh
