I'm definitely not saying anyone seeking PE is "desperate". But, in my opinion, which is based on many years of following these procedures, the current options aren't good reliable enough to consider unless one really is desperate. There are very good reasons why so few surgeons world wide do penis enlargement, yet there are literally hundreds of thousands of surgeons who perform numerous other cosmetic surgeries. The complication rate for these procedures is simply far too high and the consequences of these complications can be utterly devestating. PMMA is very promising, but at the moment it's too soon to suggest we've finally found a reliable and "safe" method. I'm not saying being desperate is the primary reason, but that it currently should be. In my opinion far too many guys are taking a big risk for reasons of vanity or enhanced sexual pleasure etc. I'm not saying those aren't good reasons, but simply that PE surgery isn't sufficiently developed yet for guys to have a procedure in order to further enhance an already good sex life or good self esteem. We are constantly reminded by movies, porn, women who you just broke up with, commercials and so on that a bigger Dick is better. the solution is more of society reform than medical new procedures, of course I do not believe that will ever happen. I do agree that the decision to undergo any Phalloplasty procedure including PMMA should be weighed heavily upon while not assuming it is perfectly safe and without complication(s). I am considering just giving it up and staying with what I have. I am looking for something that helps with both length and Girth, and I am ok with even doing 2 separate surgeries for each. Please suggest as I was strongly considering Dr. Elist, but after reading these forums I just can't bring myself to spend the money on something that would make me feel even more self-conscious even if I did not experience complications. That's defintiely true and is the key reason I promote it over the surgical options. However, the uninvasive nature (and low price) also has a downside in that it makes it far more seductive and suddenly makes PE alot more tempting for those who in the past felt as if they wanted a bigger unit, but didn't deem what they already had to be small enough to go through the risk of surgery, long recovery and huge expense. As I said before, it's very promising and my research leaves me confident that in the long term, we'll see a complication rate that is comparable to other more common cosmetic procedures, but at the moment I don't personally think it's something that should be taken lightly and thus only those who are really negatively effected by the size of their penis should be considering doing it.
