Re: My fight against nodules
10 months 3 weeks ago #1308722771They degloving was to correct the catastrophe that happened when trying to remove the filler. I’m hopeful that the steps I’m taking now will be good so I don’t have to do degloving because there’s really nothing to do after that ever.

Re: My fight against nodules
10 months 3 weeks ago #1308722776Gotcha. So I have similar band like Nodule around my Circumcision line and I was wondering what the procedure would look like to get it removed like you did. I’m already Circumcised so i don’t know if it’s possible to do it the way you did. To remove the Nodule would they need to deglove Or do they just make an incision right where the Nodule is? Sorry if I’m asking questions you may not have answers to.
If all you have is nodules, I would be incredibly surprised if degloving would be necessary. Dr. Carney is usually able to remove nodules with a non-invasive excision technique or we may even be able to clear them up with LiSWT. Removal technique will also depend on what kind of filler you've had and if there is anything else going on with your case, but I very highly doubt that degloving would be necessary in your case.

Re: My fight against nodules
10 months 3 weeks ago #1308723138My second surgery went well. I’ve had no bleeding and only a little bit of pain. I’ll be able to take this initial wrap off tomorrow night or Monday night. He wanted 72 hours with it on to help the allloderm adhere.
I talk to him yesterday and he said it’s possible. I will only will need this one and then we’ll talk about a graft over it to see if it’s even needed. I hope that’s the case. I’m ready to get on with my life again.

I’m at my wits’ end. Back in January 2024, I had a filler procedure where a mix of HA and PLLA was injected into my penis. Long story short, it went badly. The HA remained soft, but beneath that squishiness I could feel clumps and nodules from the PLLA. The injector assured me it would resolve on its own (which turned out to be untrue).
When I raised my concerns last year, he refunded me, (likely out of fear, as he already had several cases pending against him for the same issue.) Since then, I’ve been trying to sort this out. I went to Androfill, where Dr. Greta dissolved all the HA filler and injected a small amount of Kenalog into the nodules (back in April). This made little difference, so in July she tried breaking the nodules up with a needle. That didn’t help either. More recently, another clinic attempted to “flush” them out with a saline injection — again, no improvement.
Yesterday I drove two hours to see a new Urologist/surgeon. He specialises in penile and testicular surgery (cancer, cysts, etc.) and his bio says he’s an expert in minimally invasive procedures, so I had high hopes. After examining me, he booked me in for an MRI next month to pinpoint the exact location of the nodules. We both agreed they seem to be under the skin and not attached to the shaft, but he wants to be sure, since Removal can be risky if they’re deeper or attached to penile tissue.
Because I’m Circumcised, he suggested making an incision along my Circumcision scar, pulling the skin down, and removing the nodules that way (assuming they’re only under the skin). While I agreed to the MRI, I’m honestly feeling disheartened. I had hoped it would be as simple as a small cut over each Nodule to remove them.
Now I’m worried this approach might be too invasive. The idea of having my skin opened up along the Circumcision line really unsettles me. I’m scared something could go wrong and leave me with a worse problem than I started with.
What would you do in this situation? I’m starting to lose hope. I just want these nodules gone so I can move on with my life and stop obsessing over my penis. I hate how limited the options seem in the UK.

10 months 1 week ago #1308723226I suggest getting another opinion and maybe someone on here knows someone in the UK who is the guru there for this.
Also, something to consider is that each incision in your penis runs the risk of creating Necrosis, which is what has devastated me and a couple of other people on here.

The other worry is the possibility of edema or fluid retention. I have slight edema, but I did not have any Necrosis and things went pretty well. A second opinion wouldn’t hurt but the surgeon that you went to sounds like he’s taking a good approach and it sounds like he will ultimately do a good job for You
Hey- I thought Bellafill was pretty common PMMA- why did you have to have the Bellafill removed?

atxguy wrote: It sounds similar to what I went through without the MRI though. I’m not a doctor, but I can’t really see how an MRI would be a value honestly. I’ve never even heard of a penis MRI. That’s ultrasound or sonogram kind of stuff but not an MRI. Either way the technique sounds the same. I know some people have had individual nodules removed. I had about 30 so mine would’ve been pretty much a patchwork of scars even tiny scars would be a lot given the number.

Thank you for taking the time to read and reply. It’s reassuring to hear that you had a similar experience to me. I also don’t quite know how the MRI is going to help. I know there are different types? I’m going to do some research into this. I always thought ultrasound is what detected filler and nodules under the skin…
I’m really sorry you experienced that. How are you doing now and how is your penis? How bad was the Necrosis and where exactly on/in your penis did it occur? Sorry for the questions but I didn’t even know Necrosis was a possible consequence!

Yes it certainly does sound like going through the circ scar is the best idea. I didn’t realise that multiple excisions were so risky. I did have a video consultation with Moorgate a couple of months ago. Dr David Mills said the surgery would involve cutting open the skin and “rolling it down like a sock”. The sound of this really put me off so I didn’t end up going ahead with it. Looking back, I now realise that he was referring to cutting the skin at my circ scar.
Edema aside, how is your penis looking and feeling? How long did it take to heal after the deglove? I am really anxious about the possibility of something going wrong, but at the same time I just want these ugly nodules out!

Re: My fight against nodules
10 months 1 week ago #1308723234So I’m doing these five surgeries to fill in that gap. The first one was successful and we did the second one a few weeks ago and it did not take so we will have to repeat that one.

The doctor said he will call me and discuss the surgery in more detail once he’s able to see exactly how deep the nodules are located. This shit feels like a dark cloud over my head at the minute. I’m assuming it’s the same for you? Please keep us updated on the progress of your remaining surgeries.
