TOPIC: PMMA infection

Hi, I'm writing from Europe, I'm currently in hospital for 4 days after having my third round as an A.D. day 11 September 2024. I always waited 14 days before having sexual intercourse in previous rounds. This time I waited 15 days but evidently I made a mistake for which I am paying heavily. I completely healed from the entry points and swelling after 10 days, after 6/7 days I had passed the reabsorption phase and was at my lowest point and with daily massages I smoothed out the entry points. The collagen phase began and the PMMA was stable, I had a small grain under the Foreskin (I'm not Circumcised) but it was tightly closed. After 14 days I decided to try to have a relationship with my girlfriend and everything went well. After a few hours I started to itch and I saw that I had redness on that small hard spot due to the rubbing. I immediately disinfected but my penis started to swell more and more in the whole area. I immediately contacted A.D. and Ian advised me not to apply pressure and to start antibiotics and ibuprofen. I continued for another 36 hours but then the infection was so strong that my fever reached 39 degrees and I had to go to hospital where I am being treated with very strong hospital antibiotics (Merrem and Metronidazole) plus ibuprofen 800 mg every 8 hours . I'm having terrible days and even though I'm in daily contact with A.D. to share as much information as possible with the Urologist who is trying to save my penis here in the hospital. After 4 days the swelling has decreased but is still very present, the first 3 days I had a resting circumference of 18 centimeters and I thought it was about to burst. Luckily some entry points opened where pus mixed with PMMA started to drain, presumably because after 2 weeks I was told that it is possible that it is mixed with the infection. the photos are from today, 5 days after the infection began.

Hope you get well soon and they can save everything. That looks and sounds incredibly painful.

Thanks for your words. My infection was scary, I risked septicemia, now I'm fighting and praying here in the hospital for the healing of my penis, relying on the doctors and the treatments. I wanted to share this pain of mine to remind all the guys that even if you have recovered from the procedure there is always the risk of ruining everything and I would advise not having sex for 6 weeks as A.D. advises. It's hard for everyone to wait but the consequences are truly terrible if you get an infection.

Btw, what has doctor response been? Are they surprised? Do they shame you for doing this? Have they seen this specifically before?

I'm still in hospital, today marks 7 days from the infection, 6 of the hospital the doctors today will do a CT scan to see the inside of the penis. The right side of the penis where the infection started is swollen and leaking pus from two entry points. If it doesn't drain and heal in the next few days they told me they will have to make an incision to eliminate the infection. I had unprotected intercourse with my girlfriend, doctors especially here in Europe where PMMA is rarely used for injections into the penis are very upset about my choice. Now I just hope to get better.

Hi everyone, I had the CT scan, the spongy bodies are free, the scrotum is free, from the images you can see the layer of PMMA (it appears white on the machine) which covers the penis on the upper layer. Unfortunately you can't tell if there is some liquid PMMA from my third round mixed with the pus that is still gradually coming out of an entry point, so the best thing according to the doctor is to let it drain to expel the infection. From what I read, I thought that the PMMA was already encapsulated after 5/6 days and could no longer come out. The infection arrived after 15 days and the collagen process had started. Today after 7 days in hospital I feel a little better, I have no fever, no cold chills and the white blood cell values ​​have returned to normal but my penis on the right side where the infection started is in bad shape . The left side however is normal and deflated and is returning to its shape. I don't even want to imagine what part of my penis will be like if I get out of all this but the important thing is that the infection is now regressing.

I'm Circumcised and had sex 14 days after. No issues however I had sure my entry points were completely sealed. Did you get he upmost package with the UV? Prepping for round 2 and now I'm in a steady relationship with the woman I've always wanted, thanks to Avanti lol but I'll make sure I hold off longer next time.

Do they really do that? I think the 'no sex for 14 days' is the usual thing, never heard anyone on this forum waiting 6 weeks ever (i think maximum i ever read was 4 weeks). And reading the forum a lot i think infections are super-rare. Thanks a lot for your report, i think it's important!

The infection comes through the entry holes i guess? (And i guess normally they are closed after 7 days maximum in normal cases)
I would guess a condom would decrease the risk of infection immensly, i guess that's perhaps a good new security measure for the first 4 weeks.
If i remember correctly right after the procedure everyone gets an antibiotic - my theory right now is that if the entry holes close very late, then there is a window of danger.

Update 9 days after infection. Today I'm fine, yesterday the last entry point where pus came out closed, my penis has completely deflated, I'm happy that I'm healing even if there will still be a long time to wait, I have some scabs of skin that have covered the right side and are still very evident. Now in my head there is only healing, I couldn't add photos, I don't understand why, as soon as it's possible again I'll post them. I always received the complete package, third round only "basic". I have a total of 69 cc of PMMA in three rounds but I think some of this has been lost due to infection.

I thought like you, I always waited a maximum of 14 days, I always massaged, took antibiotics and always took 5 days in a hotel in TJ before leaving for Europe. For all the cycles I gradually had unprotected sex with the same woman, this time it went badly, once is enough to ruin everything. If I could go back I would use a condom for at least 6 weeks, this is what I see now. Unfortunately I was calm from my previous 2 rounds where everything went well and I used the same methods nothing different but each round can be something different.

Oh wow, what an unfortunate experience. I know AD says to wait a minimum of 3 weeks, just FYI. Also, I wonder if there might be something of a difference in healing between the Utmost vs Basic package. I’m just glad that the worst might be over now.
