Imagine how low your confidence would be if I were in ur 20s and losing hair and still single!! It's easy for u to say cuz u married with kids. I'm supposed to be in my prime but I got a big add bald spot like manu ginobili. Fml

In the event you don't read all of my posts, I had lost all of my hair at my temples by age 22. I was a Norwood 3 at age 25. It's just fucking HAIR! I KNOW what having a full head of hair means to a man (Duh! I had a transplant!). Guess what? I only had the front done (it's thin but so what!!!???) and the crown is all but gone. Think I'll go on Propecia? FUCK NO!!!! NEVER!!!! To jeopardize your health for the rest of your life just isn't worth it! What good is having hair (and getting women) if you can't get a damn Erection and furthermore... may not even want sex... for life? That's too heavy a price to pay in my book. I was on Propecia for 4 months before I threw that shit in the garbage! Too bad we didn't meet earlier, I could have given you two years worth of poison.

jlmb - I've been to several hair transplant Dr's in the LA area. Two of them say its too early for me to get a transplant. I have a diffuse thinning pattern so they said I might end up looking worse if I do get a transplant. Only thing they recommend I do right now is get on propecia and/or rogaine.

You are grossly misinformed. Even the insert that comes with Propecia now states that some sexual sides may persist after discontinuation. It was not there when the drug went to market. Not everyone has these side effects. Many do. There are many lawsuits against Merk for the drug Propecia. I trashed a free 2 year supply given to me by my hair restoration surgeon. I wouldn't even give that poison to an enemy of mine that suffered from hairloss. Read a few of the links. Hell, I don't care. Do as you please. Good luck.

Does anyone here take propecia or proscar to deal with male pattern balding? I'm considering taking the drug but after doing some research, I read some crazy complaints from men who say they suffered permanent loss of libido and impotence even after discontinued use.

Is there anyone here taking this drug currently or taken it in the past? If so what was your experience like?

Though I underwent hair restoration, I'd love to hear more as well. I've done plenty of research on ACell and PRP. One aspect I found intriguing is that in many patients, the miniaturized follicles that were/should be gray grew in pigmented. Nice! I found it odd though as hair pigmentation is predominantly controlled by melanin and the enzyme catalase that inhibits H2O2. I wonder if the regrowth would remain pigmented over time... Would be interested to know his doctor and Norwood scale/treatment area plus associated costs. I've read that the procedure only need be performed once every three years which would help offset sticker shock though I'm sure more frequent treatments would improve results.

That's what ive been concered about and had trouble coping with. I don't feel good about myself anymore. I've been shaving my head for 2 months straight and just wear hats everytime I go out. I pushed away all my friends and the girls I used to like from the fear of them not finding my attractive anymore.

Once you can accept that your behavior and attitude are all incredibly irrational (and have no basis in reality), then can you make the concerted effort to change your behavior and attitude. Baldness is just one of many physical characteristics - some people like it some people don't. On the flip side, some men can tolerate women with larger foreheads, and some can't. Some men can tolerate women with smaller breasts, some men can't. There is no universal, unanimous consensus among women that baldness is unattractive, and on the contrary, there are women who find it very attractive.

But not much I or anyone can say at this point that would make any more of a difference if you aren't willing to see how irrational this all is. Snap out of it, smack yourself around and man up. Wear your baldness with pride and, on a separate note, try to lay off the online PE scene (forums) as well as any porn (if you have a bad habit of it), you need a thorough mental cleansing.
