Maybe this guy also had some health issues that he didn't explain to the docs before hand. Also it could have been the docs to gave him to much Anaesthesia because if this is the first case ever then something definitely went wrong. Then again it's a first time for everything. Open surgery apparently increases the risk of fat embolism by opening veins. Fat causes this specific and bad reaction in the lungs. I assume Ellanse has not been tested for injection into the lungs - so I don't think it is medically established. With Calibre technique using blunt cannula, and being very gentle ( vs what I have seen with fat transfer) I would be difficult to get it into a vein. I think this is what happened to the guy. This is why many doctors give you eparine injections for 5-7 days.
