I think the % PMMA is the biggest risk. 10% rarely had these problems. At the time I had Radiesse (3 weeks ago now) - I had Kenalog injected into that big lump on the lower left. I knew it would be futile again. But, we tried 10% Kenalog with a super-thin insulin needle. There was a noticeable difference injecting the nodule with an insulin syringe because it was so thin that it passed easily through the mass...and then tiny tracks of kenalog could be laid down - rather than a big needle sort of plopping the kenalog in place with fierce resistance from the nodule. Anyway, 3 weeks later there has been some reduction in size of the mass - I think...unless I am still being confused by the radiesse camouflage (it wasn't really that much Radiesse, though). The nodules aren't rocks, I have to remind myself... which I should've known... but they feel like rocks. They are, of course, very porous balls of PMMA and your immune cells. I think the super-thin insulin needle was able to actually get to the ![heart](https://j4.phalloboards.info/media/kunena/emoticons/heart.png "heart") of the mass and spread the kenalog crystals more diffusely than a larger needle. This is just my theory...or thought for now. Of course, I could be wrong, but who knows. I wanted to put it out there...especially since it's pretty safe to put in 0.2 ccs of kenalog 10% even if it does nothing. I think manual disruption needs to follow kenalog injections (a few days later - not right away) - because otherwise the nodule has no "reason" to break up & not form again. So, I've been squeezing that one lump a lot - and it may be going down. I think the most reasonable battle plan w/ these things is to camouflage them with more product & then shrink them as much as you can...if they can be shunk So, I'm back to my R2 stats basically... after 10 months... It was written by a woman who had PMMA injected in her face (Bellafill) and developed nodules and redness on her face where the PMMA was injected. She did some research and found that sugars and foods that cause inflammation were tied to her nodules. When she changed her diet, eliminated sugars and took antioxidants her symptoms greatly improved she said. She did not post a follow up but these are the supplements she listed that she was taking that caused her symptoms to improve. I will email her and see how she is faring, this was 4 months old. The idea that inflammation causing foods could be tied to Nodule formation does not seem off base. I know collagen supplementation has been discussed on here, but not reducing the cellular inflammation that might be impacting Nodule formation. Cellular inflammation has been tied to dementia, so it can lead to serious negative outcomes. I read an article a month ago that said the 3 most important supplements you need to take if you were going to keep it just to the essentials were Fish Oil, Magnesium, and D3 - all of which are on this list. I have also seen Alpha Lipoic Acid added to to this list as well. Her routine was: ________________________ -2000 mg fish oil -good quality multivitamin (taken as directed on the package) -400 mg magnesium -750 mg curcumin -5000 IU vitamin D3 -1200 mg tart cherry capsules -12 mg astaxanthin (I may reduce this a bit just because it's a VERY strong antioxidant and I could probably get by with a lower dose) One more thing - if you drink sugary soda, stop or cut back drastically. I love it and used to drink a lot of it, but have realized that more than a little makes my face flare up. The injection amount is between 0.1 mL (tear trough or lips) and a maximum of 0.5 mL (in the cheeks) per nodule. In all cases, the patient should maintain disruption with home massage I got a red, oozing spot from one of these injections. It's in my journal. It eventually cleared up within a week. If I could read German I would have a better idea but it's listed with other similar steroids. If that works it would surprise me. No doctor I saw would inject Kenalog 40 or try breaking up the nodules. But removing a module caused an epic disaster so I think just be patient with if it isn't bothering you too much. Doctors don't like injecting steroids due to Atrophy risk. That's exactly why I think Kenalog and 5fu failed. 30% is a LOT of PMMA once the carrier is gone. And, since you're left with open injection sites from the needle (that ooze for a few days) - this lets your body push the PMMA out right into those spots. All of my lumps were at injection sites. The same process took place in R1 and R2, but I used metacrill. Something weird went on in this last round to push all the PMMA out like that and let it pool. Thanks Digadick - I hope it works out. Keep us posted. 9cc is pretty conservative, so it should settle down, I think. I haven't been able to figure out what really affects these and why some go and some stay...but I think the concentration has something to do with it.
