I will try thank you. I will follow his direction until I have no other choice but to remove it (not that having it in is making it any better). How long was your recovery after the Removal? Did you need a drainage bag again? I'll have to fly back into LA to have it removed but I'm just worried about timing.

Microphon^ I can totally relate to your apprehension! I went through a lot of soul searching and anxiety after I was duped into it also. Let me tell you the good news though, after the initial hell from getting your body used to having such a traumatic process done to the most sensitive area of it,things can , with some luck, get mostly back to normal. I am going through the long healing process aftre getting the thing removed a week ago. If it's not a good time in your life to get it removed I would wait, it's too much to have that to go thru on top of any other stress ( like who ever has no stress going on) but wait until you have a good couple weeks to spend mainly concentrateon recouperating. I have a thread with more details on the progress threads area.
Yes you will need a drainage bag after the Removal and don't get it taken out too soon like I did. the proplem is what the hell do you believe from the good Dr? you never know if his advice is really the best for you ...... or him? I know it's hard mpc but hang tough and keep the faith, you can get through this and the great support from this site helps a lot. you can also PM me with any concerns, good luck man

My advice is to have that dildo taken out of your penis as soon as possible. Do not let Dr. Elist perform any other surgical procedures on you; the man is a sociopath.'
I can't believe this guy still has a medical license. It's 'unfathomable 'and really shakes my trust in the medical profession .

Microphoncheck wrote: Well I spoke at length with him this morning. He offered two options. The first was to remove the implant at no charge (he would charge my health care provider) then come back for a super pubic fat Removal. He claims the reason it's strange looking is because too much pressure from the fat in my lower abdomen is pushing the implant in and not down. I don't quite understand why first he didn't foresee this issue and second why my weight would have any incumbrence on the implant.
The second was to keep the implant and still do a abnoplasty to remove excess fat below my belly button.
I don't think I really need or want a lipo at all, maybe I'll just have it removed hen look into a PMMA option down the road as a filler.

This is one of Dr. Elist's' favorite moves. If anything goes wrong with the implant, he blames the patient.'

One thing I think I should add...Though this man 'is sociopathic (IMO) , and though I did advise (previously) that you shouldn't let him do another procedure on you, it might be worth considering having him be the one to remove the implant. The reason I say this is because he's removed (by now) so many implants, he's probably getting very good at it. Other doctors will not have that experience.'

Mustang had a very decent outcome from his Removal with Dr. Elist...Minimal length loss and downtime.'

If you were to go down this road, make sure he takes it out in his surgicentre and not his clinic. Be very assertive and clear about how you don't want any length loss and would like to retain the added Girth of the capsule.'

And again...Make sure he knows that you are reporting all this on the Internet on various sites. Write down what he says (in front of him) . This will at least give the appearance that you are not a push-over, that you are organized. and that you mean business.'

And regarding insurance. I hear from other guys on the forum who 'have had their insurance companies billed 'by Dr. Elist that apparently he submits ridiculous charges to these companies for this relatively minor procedure...One of our members I recall mentioned something like $28, 000. I personally wouldn't want my insurance company involved. The less paper trail the better...And Dr. Elist is responsible. Never cut him slack or he will interpret it as a sign of weakness.

Hoddle's advice about not acting too rashly is a good one. Assess your situation (implant, emotional, financial, time available, etc) thoroughly, explore the options available thoroughly, and then act.
Best of luck, MM

Hi microphoncheck. I had the implant in 2010 and when this became infected had it removed and replaced with the supposed 'softer version' for an extra $5000 - which I now know does not exist. Then I had it removed altogether. The man is a conman. Send me a private mesage and I will tell you what I know and what I think you should do.

The 1-lb Grip works ok-it looks like a black condom. I've been looking around as well to prepare for my surgery. The Circle Device looks like one of the best ones out there, but there's probably others. Please let me know if you find any comparable products.

Microphoncheck wrote: I understand and agree if I had ever seen half of the posts I have read in the past couple weeks I would have never... EVER done this to myself. If There weren't children solely dependent on me I don't know what I would do. It has affected me mentally that badly in the past 6 months... I would greatly appreciate any advice. Dr. Elist told me there is a solution which I could I inject at the pubic area where the incision is to release the implant. Is this advisable? I'm scared to do anything he asks at this point...

Don't rush into anything. If you've had the implant in for 6 months already, I'd imagine all the scar tissue that is going to form, will have done so. Therefore, seeing as you haven't reported any infection, then there is no need to rush into a course of treatment.

You are understandably anxious and concerned, but your penis is all still there, you just have a combination of silicone and scar tissue preventing it from reaching it's normal length.

It is probably worth consulting with a couple of other urologists before you consider what ever options Elist has proposed. The go to guy among PE surgery victims has been Gary Alter, but recently a guy called Dr Gelman has been mentioned and those who have consulted with him seem to be impressed.

Ultimately the message is try no to worry. Many have been in your position before and come through it. Check this thread regularly as we have plenty former Elist patients who are members and over the coming weeks I'm sure more will chime in and offer advise based on their experience.

Microphoncheck wrote: So, if I take it out will I be charged for it? Also will I regain my original length? Shit, I might as well stay celibate for the rest of my life...

I'm not sure if you will get charged as I've never had the implant.

It's very possible you will regain your original length. If you are sufficiently determined I'd say it's most likely you will. You can stretch post op and this alone is enough in a lot of cases. If that doesn't work then you can have surgery to remove scar tissue and get their length back. Also keep in mind not everyone who has had the implant removed has lost length and some have gained Girth due to the scar tissue.

I can understand you are stressed and depressed, but you situation isn't anything new and many guys have made a fully recovery.

I'm surprised less people have posted in this thread to offer you advise, as lots of our members have been in your situation. The trouble is most of the time our members move on with their lives and tend not to log on very often.

Keep checking the thread and send out some PMs.

When my implant suddenly became infected, I had to travel from Tokyo to LA literally the next day. Dr. Elist took the implant out for free, but he performed the surgery in his examination room with his nurse as an assistant (unprofessional to say the least). . To minimize the pain, I believe he gave me opiates in some tea..oh yes...his secretary/nurse acted as his assistant during the procedure. It (of course) hurt like hell.

He gave me a battery operated Penis Pump at the end of the procedure to use... But charged me $700.00 for it. It's retail price (I later found out) was $150.00. What an asshole.

As I mentioned in my previous post, after the Removal of the implant, my penis retracted 2 inches (I was incredibly distraught over this), but after 3 months of stretching, pumping, and Hanging I was able to gain back 3 inches...So in the end my length increased one Inch over my Pre implant length...What's more, the remaining "capsule" (scar tissue) left me with an extra 3/4 inches over my Pre implant Girth.

Though I went through hell, I ended up an Inch longer and 3/4 of an Inch thicker with the implant removed..
I know first-hand how distraught and depressed you must feel right now, but I really believe that this will eventually be taken care of successfully, and you will
be able to get on with your life. Try to remain positive....

hoddle10 wrote: I'm afraid I can't offer a great deal of advice here, as I haven't had the implant. But there are numerous members here who have had it and they will be able to better advise you.

But this is getting beyond ridiculous now. Something has to be done about Dr Elist. He must be stopped.

Unfortunately many of his victims that posted at the old PB's and MNS haven't joined here. Also many that have no longer post. So even though the numerous accounts of terrible experiences with the Elist and his implant that are here to act as a deterrent, alone they don't demonstrate the full scale of the devastation this man has caused. I think his victims should set up a blog "The vicitms of Dr James Elist" and make sure it gets to the top of Elist related internet searches.

Typing the doctor's name in Google puts PhalloBoards up at top, so the combined reporting & efforts of his botched patients have already begun to "pay off." But I agree, given the neutrality of this forum, it would be most advisable for Elist patients to unite under a blog project which will certainly move its way up search engine rankings.

It took the wound (where the implant perforated the skin) about 6 weeks to heal...Then I started stretching, Hanging, and pumping) and the length came right back. I was one of the lucky ones.
I live in Tokyo and work over 60 hours a week and I found time to take care of this issue in California....
I did have another drainage back when he removed it....
Remember to be direct and strong with Dr. Elist. He backs down with assertiveness, but he'll bully you if you are over compromising.
Also, mention that you are posting your progress on the Internet...This magically makes him more agreeable and eager to help.

@fullrun

It would be more appropriate if you shared your experience so others can learn from it. Simply bashing the doctor for the sake of bashing him is not what this forum is about. He's already earned whatever reputation he has through first-hand accounts, backed up credibly with photos, etc. You can follow suit, otherwise I'm advising you no longer post in this fashion.

I hear ya hoodie and I really appreciate yours and everyone's responses. I'm sure it's happened before to many others I'm just feeling very scared and alone here.I hate what I did to myself, I was good enough as is just going through some turbulent life changes and acted rashly. Now I feel as though I'm reaping what I have sewn, just deserts, etc. and I have no time or means to rectify the problem.
