With the last procedure I had, the pharmacist informed me that my prescription needed to be flagged as suspicious because of the fact that it was an out-of-state doctor, and the overall types of drugs being prescribed. For pain, they prescribed me Tylenol 3, which is a controlled substance, but a very mild pain reliever. I found that simply taking 2 Advil was more effective for pain. I wonder if it'd be worthwhile to talk with a provider about using OTC pain meds instead of prescription ones for a procedure? If one has friends or family members who work in the medical field, does anyone know if they can simply browse one's prescription drug history? A prescription for even something like an antibiotic by a Urologist could raise some weird questions...
